Two ways of communication – two kinds of ELZAB price checkers In dependence on way of communication with PC and data base localisation ELZAB SA offers two basic models of price checkers: 1. Price checker for LAN network, the data base in managing computer (server). The price checker is connected to the LAN network and articles data base and service software are installed on the server (managing computer). Central data storage ensure the data accordance in all installed devices. The solution assure quick reaction for barcode read, even for the big number of devices. The price checker enables also displaying the advertising messages and realises the additional functions depending on the server program. 2. Price checker for ELZAB cash register system, the data base in price checker memory. To the communication with computer RS232 transmission is applied. The price checker has its own data base memory: - models RW, RL and RF 28,6 thousands PLU and 4670 additional codes, - models RW+, RL+ and RF+ 61,4 thousands PLU and 4670 additional codes. Price checkers of this kind are recommended to apply in any cash registers systems, in which, for the sake of number of installed price checkers, the data base should be located in price checker memory. RW and RL type price checkers are recommended for shops, in which the ELZAB (Alfa, Delta, Jota) cash registers are working in the network controlled by computer. Accessories, power supply, connections ... The price checkers are equipped with the one of three kinds of bar code scanners:
Omnidirectional laser scanner, ensuring the easy readout from the bigger distance and at the any angle of article placing
Line laser scanner, the solution less convenient for the customer (requiring the proper setting of articles), but cheaper.

Necessary equipment for price checkers are supply modules – one for each four installed price checkers and adapter 24V DC (for each supply module).

Additionally in the offer is RS232 supply module with adapter (code 01621). It is destined for supplying only one of RW, RL, RF, RW+, RL+, RF+ price checkers. It allows for limiting the costs of installations of single price checker. Connection to the network is realised by means of UTP type cable for computer network connections (one cable for the data transmission and power supply), to the 100 m distance in LAN network and to 200 m when the RS232 communication is realised (i.e. in ELZAB cash registers system).
The fixing element is the back side, on which the price checker is hung and blocked by the lock with key. During the price checkers ordering it is necessary to precise if locks should have the same, common key number for delivery (then one key opens each price checker) or different (random numbers).
